This versatile, nutritious, and protein-packed dish is ideal for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Protein

  • 4 fresh salmon fillets, skin removed
  • 6 slices smoked turkey bacon

Creamy Sauce

  • 1/2 cup plant-based creamy dairy/cheese
  • 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes (natural), chopped
  • 2 teaspoons vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon natural gelling agent

Aromatics & Spices

  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • Salt, to taste

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Let them rest at room temperature to allow the flavors to penetrate while you prepare other ingredients.
  2. Cook the Smoked Turkey Bacon: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the smoked turkey bacon slices until they become crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet to add flavor to the sauce.
  3. Sauté Shallots and Garlic: In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the finely chopped shallots and minced garlic. Sauté gently until they turn translucent and fragrant, forming a savory base for the sauce.
  4. Create the Creamy Sauce: Stir in the plant-based creamy dairy/cheese, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of natural gelling agent. Simmer the mixture gently over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld beautifully.
  5. Cook the Salmon in Sauce: Nestle the seasoned salmon fillets into the simmering sauce. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, spooning the sauce over the fillets regularly to keep them moist. The salmon should be cooked through but remain tender and flaky.
  6. Finish and Garnish: Top each salmon fillet with crispy smoked turkey bacon pieces. Sprinkle fresh chopped basil and parsley over the dish to add vibrant color and freshness. Serve immediately for the best taste.

Notes

  • Choose fresh salmon for the most tender and flavorful results.
  • Do not overcook the salmon to maintain moist and flaky texture.
  • Use oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes for richer flavor compared to dry-pack varieties.
  • Adjust the amount of red chili flakes to control the heat level according to preference.
  • Simmer the sauce gently and avoid high heat to preserve the creamy texture perfectly.
