Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 200g smoked turkey slices, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 150g cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 100g plant-based cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon natural gelling agent

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vegetables: Slice the bell peppers, mushrooms, and onion into thin strips for even cooking and blending of flavors. Mince the garlic finely and keep it ready for cooking.
  2. Sauté the Veggies: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic first, cooking until fragrant and translucent. Add the peppers and mushrooms next, stirring occasionally until they soften and develop a slight caramelization.
  3. Cook the Smoked Turkey Slices: Slide the veggies to the side of the skillet and add the smoked turkey slices. Warm and lightly brown the turkey slices to build a smoky and savory flavor. After a few minutes, mix the turkey with the vegetables for combined flavor.
  4. Season and Add Sauces: Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce evenly over the skillet ingredients. Stir well to coat the mixture with seasonings and umami richness.
  5. Melt the Plant-Based Cheese: Reduce the heat slightly, sprinkle shredded plant-based cheese over the top, and cover the skillet. Let it melt for a few minutes until creamy. Optionally, sprinkle the natural gelling agent and stir gently to help bind the ingredients for better texture.

Notes

  • Keep turkey slices and veggies thin for quick, even cooking and authentic texture.
  • Sauté peppers and mushrooms on low to medium heat to draw out sweetness and flavor.
  • Use fresh vegetables to enhance flavor and texture contrast.
  • Cover the pan when melting cheese to trap heat and speed melting.
  • Adjust seasonings like salt, pepper, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce after cooking to taste.
