Description

Creamy Cajun Cream Cheese Alfredo Bowties is a rich and flavorful pasta dish that combines tender bowtie pasta with a luscious, plant-based Alfredo sauce infused with Cajun spices and the savory crunch of smoked turkey bacon. This comforting and elegant recipe delivers bold flavors, a velvety texture, and a smoky touch perfect for cozy dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta

Sauce

  • 4 oz plant-based cream cheese
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk (unsweetened almond or cashew milk recommended)
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp natural gelling agent

Add-ins & Garnish

  • 4 oz smoked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bowtie Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water for later to help adjust the sauce consistency.
  2. Prepare the Smoked Turkey Bacon: While the pasta cooks, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped smoked turkey bacon and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on paper towels to drain excess fat.
  3. Make the Creamy Cajun Sauce: Lower the heat to medium-low and add the minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook briefly until fragrant. Stir in the plant-based cream cheese and non-dairy milk, mixing until smooth. Add the Cajun seasoning, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural), onion powder, and natural gelling agent. Stir continuously to blend flavors and thicken the sauce.
  4. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet with the creamy Cajun sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly. Use reserved pasta water to thin the sauce if needed. Fold in the crispy smoked turkey bacon to incorporate the smoky crunch.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the dish for freshness and color. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Use reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce without losing creaminess.
  • Taste the sauce before combining with pasta to control the Cajun spice level.
  • Do not overcook pasta to keep bowties al dente and maintain texture contrast.
  • Soften plant-based cream cheese gradually to avoid lumps in the sauce.
  • Cook smoked turkey bacon separately to keep it crispy and prevent sogginess.
