Ingredients

Scale

Dough Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 cup Warm Almond Milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 2 tbsp Plant-Based Butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Vegetarian Worcestershire Sauce (natural)
  • 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

Coating Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon (natural)
  • 1/4 cup Plant-Based Butter, melted

Finishing

  • Sweet Glaze (natural), for drizzling

Optional Add-ins

  • Chopped pecans or walnuts (for nutty delight)
  • Dried cranberries or raisins (for berry burst)
  • Dairy-free chocolate chips (for chocolate lover’s)
  • Orange zest and ground cardamom (for spiced orange twist)
  • Maple syrup glaze (natural) as glaze alternative

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm almond milk, active dry yeast, and apple cider vinegar. Stir and let it sit until frothy. Gradually add all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, plant-based butter, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce. Knead the mixture until a soft dough forms. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Form the Dough Balls: Punch down the risen dough and transfer it onto a floured surface. Cut the dough into small, even pieces. Roll each piece into a smooth ball and set aside on the floured surface. Prepare coating ingredients in separate bowls.
  3. Coat the Dough Balls: In one bowl, mix cinnamon (natural) and sugar. Dip each dough ball into melted plant-based butter then fully roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated well. This creates the classic sweet and spicy crust.
  4. Assemble in the Pan: Generously grease a bundt cake pan with plant-based butter. Layer the coated dough balls evenly inside the pan. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts or dried fruits between layers and drizzle a small amount of vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) for flavor depth.
  5. Bake to Golden Perfection: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the assembled dough balls for 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and fragrant. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before drizzling the natural sweet glaze generously over the warm bread.

Notes

  • Adjust flour during kneading to ensure dough is soft but not sticky or dry.
  • Fully coat each dough ball for the classic caramelized cinnamon-sugar crust.
  • Use warm almond milk to activate yeast properly without killing it.
  • Grease bundt pan generously with plant-based butter for easy release.
  • Allow Monkey Bread to cool before glazing to help the glaze set but remain gooey.
